My Approach

In our sessions, we will work collaboratively to explore where you see your challenges and work to build on the strengths that already exist within you. We will work toward goals you establish, and determine what makes the most sense for your therapeutic needs. I operate from a relational, person-centered lens.

With therapy I enjoy utilizing different approaches including value work- looking at what values you hold, and how to move toward those values. Maybe your value is family, how do we bring that value more into your life? Or maybe dependability, how do we let that value thrive, while creating boundaries to not wear you out?

I invite clients to evaluate and challenge maladaptive thinking patterns, and ways we get stuck in our thinking that limit us. I find we so often default to negative thinking or worst case scenario, which can really be exhausting, and leave us feelings activated. What if we shift that focus, and explore what best case, or likely case could be?

I have completed level 2 Brainspotting, which has shown to be beneficial to shifting our internal response to trauma. A shift from traditional talk therapy, utilizing spots in our visual field, we can process different stressors, and negative stimuli that impact us.

From a non-clinical perspective…

I love the incorporation of pop culture as a means for communicating our experience. If you’ve ever connected your experiences to music, tv shows, books, or movies I encourage you to share that in our work to help process your experience.
